Guiding You through Healing

Bahareh’s approach focuses on helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate the complexities of past experiences, mental health challenges, and cultural identity. She has extensive experience working with complex trauma and a wide range of mental health issues, including mood and psychotic disorders such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. With a particular interest in women’s health, Bahareh supports clients through different life stages, including pre- and postnatal transitions, birth-related trauma, and the emotional changes associated with perimenopause.

Recognizing the profound influence of cultural identity on mental health, she also helps individuals explore and embrace their cultural backgrounds—addressing issues of cultural adaptation, identity conflict, and the challenges of living between different worlds. By fostering a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment, Bahareh guides clients toward recovery, resilience, and a cohesive sense of self that promotes overall well-being and personal growth.

Background

She immigrated to Canada as a young adult, and the transition was both challenging and transformative. As an Iranian-Canadian woman, adjusting to a new culture, navigating the complexities of a new environment, and balancing family dynamics were significant hurdles she faced. Being married outside of her culture has enriched her life with even more multicultural experiences, deepening her appreciation for cultural diversity.

Her own experiences have given her firsthand insight into the struggles many immigrants face — from displacement and cultural adjustment to the emotional toll of integrating multiple identities. These challenges have shaped her understanding of trauma and reinforced the importance of cultural sensitivity in healing.

Bahareh’s interest in mental health was also deeply personal. Having a family member with a mental health diagnosis inspired her to learn more about psychiatry and psychotropic medications, and to pursue a career supporting others. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience working with local Health Authorities, supporting individuals with conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders.

She specializes in trauma-informed care, incorporating EMDR and other evidence-based modalities to support recovery and resilience. With a certificate in women’s health, Bahareh brings specialized expertise in pre- and postnatal mental health, birth trauma, and the emotional transitions associated with perimenopause. This unique combination of personal insight and professional knowledge allows her to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, and holistic care — empowering clients to heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of self.
