Guiding You through Healing

Bahareh’s approach is on helping individuals heal from trauma and navigate the complexities of past trauma and cultural identity. She works with clients to address and process the deep emotional wounds caused by traumatic experiences, guiding them toward recovery and resilience. Recognizing the profound impact that cultural identity can have on one's mental health, she also supports individuals in understanding and embracing their cultural backgrounds. This involves exploring issues related to cultural adaptation, identity conflicts, and the challenges of living between different cultural worlds. By fostering a safe and inclusive environment, she helps clients integrate their cultural identities into a cohesive sense of self, promoting overall well-being and personal growth.

Bahareh is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC#6999) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association as well as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC#20127) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

Background

She immigrated to Canada as a young adult, and the transition was both challenging and transformative. As an Iranian-Canadian woman, adjusting to a new culture, navigating the complexities of a new environment, and balancing family dynamics were significant hurdles she faced. Being married outside of her culture has enriched her life with even more multicultural experiences, deepening her appreciation for cultural diversity.

Her own experiences have given her firsthand insight into the struggles many immigrants face — from displacement and cultural adjustment to the emotional toll of integrating multiple identities. These challenges have shaped her understanding of trauma and reinforced the importance of cultural sensitivity in healing.

Bahareh’s interest in mental health was also deeply personal. Having a family member with a mental health diagnosis inspired her to learn more about psychiatry and psychotropic medications, and to pursue a career supporting others. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience working with local Health Authorities, supporting individuals with conditions such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders.

This blend of personal and professional experience has given Bahareh a deep empathy for her clients, as well as a strong commitment to advocating for accessible, culturally sensitive mental health care.
